Collective Retreats is a new, meaningful way to travel. Our portfolio of destination retreats allows our guests to explore unique destinations without sacrificing any luxuries, and leave feeling inspired and connected.

Collective Retreats is a venture-backed, high-growth hospitality company that creates and operates asset-light, moveable hotels in premium, unique destinations.  Each of our  luxury retreats  is designed to create amazing guest experiences and is built with a keen eye on design,  beautiful décor, and amenities. We’re changing the travel industry with our focus on delivering authentic, local experiences for our guests with service on the level of what you would find at a 5-star hotel, however created in a very unique location with asset light structures.  Our retreats offer a wide variety of activities for our guests, both created by our staff and in combination with local activity providers.  

We are seeking a resourceful, creative, business development intern to work with the Property Development team at Collective Retreats.  The team’s core functions are to (i) expand and build out the strong property pipeline for Collective Retreats portfolio; (ii) negotiate agreements with new partners in desired locations ; and, (iii) manage existing property relations, including expansion and local permitting for each Retreat.  The intern will be an integral support across these three functions, with the primary responsibility of expanding the property pipeline through targeted research and direct outreach with new contacts.

The work will require research into new desired market locations, including direct targeting/cold-calling potential property partners, as well as responding to inquiries about interest in partnering with Collective Retreats.  In addition, conducting research and due diligence on development permit requirements within a given jurisdiction, and helping to support the setting of deal terms and negotiating contracts with new property partners.  This person will work as a team and independently, reporting into the Director of Property Partnerships/Business Development.

The ideal candidate has an interest in business development and alternative, luxury hospitality – and is highly motivated and a team player.

Responsibilities:

  • Market research and identifying new locations for Collective Retreats expansion
  • Source new properties and expand existing pipeline for Collective Retreats
  • Evaluate properties against specific rubrics, including both qualitative and quantitative metrics, and local code requirements
  • Review competitors at the national and local levels, and maintain competitor database
  • Develop sales materials to highlight benefits of partnering with Collective Retreats
  • Support the Property Development team in generating and negotiating contracts
