Our home on the lagoon

Located 4 hours from Cancun Airport and approximately 20 min from Chetumal airport, Habitas Bacalar is situated on an 8-hectare property on Lake Bacalar in Quintana Roo, Mexico best known for its multi-hued lagoon with crystalline waters.

Habitas is the first global hospitality group to launch a property in Bacalar. Our home comprises 34 A-frame rooms with earthly interiors, local lagoon-facing views, Siete, our open-air kitchen and restaurant, a spa and wellness area, and a communal gathering space.

The experience on site heavily focuses on wellness & restoration. Activities are centered around the lagoon, such as kayaking, free-diving and catamaraning. Wellness programming includes Janzu water therapy, an on-site temazcal experience and daily yoga classes in our yoga shala.

Our impact philanthropic arm, Our Habitas RISE is focused on lagoon and stromatolite conservation, sustainability, and empowering local communities through education and by creating microeconomies.

Seamlessly built on the crystalline waters of Laguna Bacalar, Our Habitas Bacalar is a sustainable, holistic oasis – an escape to restore and calm the senses overlooking seven hues of blue.

Our 34 cabanas are built with natural, earthly interiors and lagoon-facing views. A-frame rooms face a shallow, multi-hued lagoon that weaves its way around mangroves, stromatolites and mineral clay banks. Awake to the sounds of gentle waves and rejuvenate on the immaculate shores.
