PAIGE CARTER
General Manager, Governor's Island
Growing up in rural North Carolina riding bikes, constructing forts in the woods, searching for creek wildlife, and building fires, Paige developed early and deep rooted passion for igniting the curiosity inside us all – centering community building and authentic connection to the world around us. Collective Retreats Governors Island provides the perfect setting for her to combine her love of the outdoors with the opportunity to connect New Yorkers deeply to nature, self, and one another.
Prior to joining Collective Retreats, Paige spent the past 14 years between NYC and Las Vegas, creating connective, immersive hospitality experiences. Most recently, she was a member of Farm. One’s executive leadership team as Vice President of Member Delight and Logistics – growing custom microgreens, herbs, and edible flowers for NYC’s Michelin-awarded chefs and bartenders. Paige was a member of the opening management teams for two Las Vegas nightclubs: The Act Nightclub, from the creators of the Box Nightclub, and LIGHT Nightclub, a collaboration between Cirque du Soleil and Light Group. She holds an MFA in Event and Stage Management from Columbia University and a BA in Technical Production and Design from Elon University.
Paige is also the co-founder of Camp Wonderful, a summer camp for grown-ups and in her previous professional life was a stage manager for Cirque du Soleil’s KA and the Criss Angel’s touring show – The Supernaturalists.
TRAVEL RITUAL:
Paige prides herself on being highly proficient at airport security – often rewarding herself with a seltzer (or several) and a really good snack.
