Katie C.

Senior Accountant

After graduating with degrees in finance and economics from N.C. State, Katie packed up and headed to hike the Appalachian Trail. After a few weeks in the wilderness, she made her way out west to take permanent advantage of the great outdoors in Colorado. She spent the better part of a decade working in corporate finance and accounting and then as an independent accountant for small businesses like breweries, bike shops, and coffee roasters. Upon completing her master’s in accounting, Katie sought out a new challenge in an exciting and growing industry—experiential travel. She joined the Collective Retreats family in 2018 and embraced a culture of traveling to off-the-grid destinations from within the exciting environment of a startup.

Favorite Travel Ritual

When visiting a new city, I like to pick a point of interest on the other side of town and find my way there on foot. Similarly, in the mountains, I like to climb to the highest point near a campsite and plan my first adventure with a bird's eye view of the surroundings.
