Ian is a lover of curated hospitality-driven experiences. His affinity for hospitality and travel began at a very young age when his parents, keen on showing him the world, made frequent trips to Europe, South America and the Caribbean. Even though he’s a city boy at heart, Ian’s early travels instilled a strong appreciation for different cultures and a love of the outdoors.
Before joining Collective Governors Island, Ian was the General Manager of Freehold Brooklyn, one of NYC’s top nightlife destinations boasting a 10,000 square foot space with an award-winning coffee shop, lobby bar, expansive outdoor courtyard, and dynamic programming. Earlier in his career, he worked for Michael Psilakis (2008 Bon Appetit Chef of the Year) and opened Kefi and Michelin-starred Anthos. Alongside Geoffrey Zakarian (Iron Chef America), Ian also launched The National Bar and Dining Rooms at the Benjamin Hotel as Beverage Director and was later named Food and Beverage Director of the Royalton Hotel.

I love to set out in the heart of wherever I end up with no direction, seeking out restaurants from hole-in-the-walls to the best rated. I like to feel like a local, and it’s always a plus if there is an Ocean involved.
