Collective Retreats is a venture-backed, fast growth hospitality company that concepts and operates asset-light, moveable hotels in premium, unique destinations.  Each of our  luxury retreats  is designed to create amazing guest experiences, with an emphasis on thoughtful design, inspiring decor, once-in-a-lifetime food, curated local activities, and luxurious amenities. We’re changing the travel industry by giving guests authentic, local experiences paired with service and luxury that you would find in a 5-star hotel – something we’re able to achieve through our unique locations and structures.

We are seeking an Operations Coordinator to support the Operations team in all aspects of the central operations, purchasing and logistics functions as well as help to grow the already amazing Collective Retreats team brand and culture.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, highly organized critical thinker who is eager to learn and develop their skills within a fast-paced, high-growth environment.  Previous experience in operations, logistics, event planning and/or purchasing is a plus, and a  passion for hospitality is highly desirable.  They are excited to work in a start-up/fast-paced environment and doesn’t shy away from getting their hands dirty.  They are highly organized and dependable, approachable, self-motivated, and passionate about travel and what we’re building.  

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in, and as assigned, lead the management and completion of operations projects to further develop and strengthen Collective’s internal and retreat operations processes and capabilities.
  • Assist, and as assigned, lead in the implementation of operations initiatives and best practice sharing across the system (including working with the Product Team), with seamless execution and complete adoption and standardization across retreats and functions.
  • With operations leadership, build out a central purchasing function.  Manage the day to day purchasing needs of the business, including vendor sourcing, management and relationship building.
  • With operations leadership, build out a central logistics and storage function. Manage the day to day logistics and storage needs of the business for efficient movement of retreat capital across the system.
  • Lead (for assigned locations) retreat Strike Team(s) for retreat take-down (working cross-functionally, as needed), including sourcing and managing contract labor.
  • Support retreat Build teams as needed to ensure successful and complete opening of retreats.
  • Help drive the team culture in accordance with our Collective mission, vision and values.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Must have a passion for what we are building and the guest experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in operations, logistics, purchasing and/or event planning and management,, ideally in a start-up or hospitality environment
  • Exceptionally strong and proven project management abilities, including experience with setting up and taking down large scale physical products
  • Fluent in all Microsoft Office and Google Suite software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and changing priorities.  Proven track record of exercising good judgment in stressful situations
  • Track record of exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated, structured, strong attention to detail, and open to change
  • Excited and passionate about the Operations function for Collective Retreats
  • Has high integrity and able to work well under pressure and across multiple stakeholders
  • Able to work remotely when necessary and willingness to travel approximately 30-40% of the time, on average
  • Hard working team player with a positive, can-do attitude.  Flexible and willing to work long and sometimes erratic hours
