Can I bring my pet?
Pets are allowed at Collective Yellowstone, Collective Hudson Valley and Collective Hill Country at no additional cost. Please note in your reservation that you will be bringing a pet so our staff can prepare properly. With the exception of service animals, pets are NOT allowed at Collective Vail, due to risk of interference with the ranch animals on the property.
What are the bathrooms like?
Each tent is connected via private walkway to your own custom-designed bathroom. The bathrooms are housed in canvas tipis, with full-flush toilets, rain-style hot showers, and sink with mirror and shelf. There are thick Turkish towels and robes, as well as luxury bath products.
Are there bugs and wildlife?
The tents are outdoors, so we cannot guarantee you won’t see any bugs. However, we do have bug foggers available upon request, which help minimize the chance of insect encounters. Collective Vail is located on a ranch, which is home to many horses, alpacas, dogs, cats, and Billy the Steer. All these animals are fenced off in a large field downhill from the tents. You can visit them in their natural habitat, but they won’t be bothering you in yours. Collective Yellowstone is located in the heart of Moonlight Basin and is surrounded by beautiful forest. As we are located not far from Yellowstone National Park, there is always the chance that wildlife may be nearby. The safety of our guests and team is our top priority, and our staff will educate you on our safety guidelines and practices when you arrive.
What will the weather be like?
Our retreats are located in beautiful natural environments. While spring and summer are generally mild and sunny in both Vail and Big Sky, both locations can experience rainstorms as well as unseasonably cold or hot conditions. Brief afternoon showers (and subsequent wet ground) do occur, so please bring appropriate footwear and outerwear. Our tents are equipped with wood-burning stoves and plenty of extra blankets, but it can get chilly in the evenings. We recommend bringing warm layers, such as jackets, sweaters, warm socks, and scarves. Collective Hudson Valley and Collective Hill Country tend to be hot and humid. The tents are set in the shade underneath the trees and we provide in-tent fans for those warmer evenings. Collective Hudson Valley can be cold in the fall and Collective Hill Country can be chilly in the winter, especially at nightfall. Be sure to check the weather prior to your trip and pack accordingly. We’re here to answer any questions in the meantime.
How do I get to the retreats?
All Collective Retreats destinations are conveniently located and easily accessible from major airports. Collective Vail is a quick 30-minute drive from Eagle County Airport or approximately two hours from Denver International Airport, while Collective Yellowstone is a 90-minute drive from Bozeman Airport. Collective Hudson Valley is within two hours of all the New York City airports, and a shorter drive from the Albany International Airport (Albany, NY) and the Bradley International Airport (Hartford, CT). Collective Hill Country is within 1 hour of both the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and San Antonio International Airport. If you’d prefer to take a taxi, our concierge would be happy to arrange transportation for you. You can reach our concierge by calling 970-445-2033 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
What is the alcohol policy?
The alcohol policies vary based on the retreat. Collective Vail has an on-property winery, Vines at Vail, where you can purchase award-winning wines to enjoy at your tent. Beer, wine and liquor also available for purchase. Due to permitting restrictions, you are not allowed to bring your own alcohol to Collective Vail. We do not sell, distribute or pour any alcohol at Collective Yellowstone, Collective Hudson Valley or Collective Hill Country.
When should I book?
Because space at each retreat is limited, we suggest you book at least 3 months in advance—or more if you are looking to visit on a holiday weekend or peak time. Our reservations team is always available to help answer any questions prior to booking, or look into availability for you. Please contact us if you are interested in staying at Collective Retreats, but need more information prior to booking. You can reach our reservations department by phone at 970-445-2033 or email@example.com.
How long should I stay?
Most of our guests choose to stay for 3-4 nights, but we welcome you to stay as long as you’d like! Our concierge can help design a customized trip for you at any length of stay. Please note, we have a 2-night minimum stay for standard weekends and a 3-night minimum stay for holiday weekends.
What time is check-in and checkout?
Check-in is at 2 p.m. and checkout is at 11 a.m. Check-outs later than 11 a.m. will be charged for an additional night. Our concierge team will be in touch close to your arrival date to confirm your arrival time.
What time of year should I visit?
Our retreats are operated seasonally to accommodate guests during only the most beautiful and temperate times of year. There are benefits to all parts of the season, depending on what you’re looking for. Collective Vail is open May-October, while Collective Yellowstone has a bit shorter season with dates available June-September. Collective Hudson Valley is open April-November and Collective Hill Country will be opening on January 1, 2018.
What should I pack?
We furnish our tents with plenty of creature comforts, including games, books, and luxury bath amenities. After you book, we’ll be in touch with a Guide to Collective that includes retreat-specific suggestions on what to pack. Some of the important items include warm outer layers and waterproof footwear, especially for Vail and Big Sky. The weather can vary, so you will be much more comfortable if you are prepared with the appropriate clothing and footwear. In general, the weather is gorgeous, but it’s always good to pack the right items. We suggest checking the weather a day or two prior to your arrival. Also, don’t forget your camera, travel journal, a hat, sunscreen and a good book to read while you enjoy your morning coffee on the porch.
How many tents are there?
Each retreat is unique and ranges in size, but all are designed to provide you with a peaceful, intimate getaway. The tents are located approximately 100-150 feet apart to allow for a relaxing stay for you and your fellow guests. While we encourage you to meet the other guests at our evening campfire, this is your experience and you can choose to interact as much or as little as you’d like with our staff and guests.
What are the dining options?
Your stay includes a daily complimentary full breakfast at our Three Peaks Lodge. We feature a wide range of dishes, from hearty omelettes and pancakes to wellness-focused options like yogurt and homemade granola.
For lunch and dinner, we have a variety of a la carte options for purchase. For lunch, we sell to-go picnic boxes that include sandwiches and snacks. In the evenings, you can choose to book our nightly farm to table dinner, which is served under the stars and features a three-course menu of seasonal local dishes, or go with a more casual BBQ-in-a-box option.
We request that all lunch and dinner reservations are made at least one day prior to arrival, and all farm to table dinners booked at least two weeks in advance. Our team is happy to help you make your choices and confirm your reservations—please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
What kind of activities are there?
As part of the Collective Retreats experience, we introduce you to the best activities and sights that the location has to offer. We’ve personally scouted out the best trails, the best activity providers, even the best sunrise spots—and want to share it all with you. Because of that, you can be assured that we can design the perfect itinerary for you, no matter your style or preference.
At Collective Vail, many of our guests choose to take advantage of the surrounding ranchlands with horseback riding excursions, but there’s also fly fishing, ziplining, hiking, and shady-spot-napping. Guests have access to the exclusive Moonlight Basin members-only club with pool, hot tub and spa, and the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. Some of our favorites at Collective Hudson Valley include winery and distillery tours, exploring local orchards and farmer’s markets, hiking, biking, and much more. Surrounded by many beautiful natural attractions, Collective Hill County features many outdoor adventures such as hiking, horseback riding and ziplining, as well as plenty of art galleries, live entertainment and local wineries. We can also book an in-tent massage for you at any of our locations. Please email our concierge to book activities for your stay at email@example.com.
